My business takes its stunningly original name from the fact that I am Kia Thomas, and I edit things. Well, not things – your stories, your babies, the words you put blood, sweat, and more than a little bit of your heart into.

And you’re not even done yet. How unfair, right? You got a whole book out of your brain and onto a page. You created fictional people out of thin air and gave them names and jobs and families and things that mattered to them. Maybe you made them fall in love with each other and do some kissing and stuff. But you know – presumably, because you’re here on my website, after all – that if you want your work to become the best possible version of itself, you need to invest in it. And one of the best investments you can make is in high-quality editing.

I believe in the power of stories, and I believe that most authors want theirs to shine. I work with writers who aren’t afraid to dig deep in order to improve their craft. Whether you’re looking for help with big-picture, structural issues to make sure your story sits on the firmest foundation it can, or help with polishing and tightening up your prose until it sings, if you want an editor who’s passionate about bringing out the best in your work, you’ve come to the right place.

I specialise in contemporary romance and women’s fiction. I’m more than happy to discuss other genres, but if you write crime or horror, you’re likely to be better off with an editor who’s more familiar with your genre. I’m not the right fit for every story, and I’m not about to pretend I am.
